Plagiarism Policy

Samalewa is committed to maintaining the integrity of the academic record and considers plagiarism a serious breach of publication ethics. Plagiarism includes copying the work of others without proper attribution, paraphrasing without citation, and self-plagiarism.

Screening Process: All manuscripts submitted to Samalewa will be screened for plagiarism using Turnitin or other plagiarism detection software to ensure originality.

Similarity Threshold:

  • The maximum allowable similarity index is 25%.

  • Any single source similarity should not exceed 5%.

Action on Plagiarism:

  1. Low Similarity (Below 25%): The manuscript will proceed to the review process. Minor revisions regarding citations may be requested.

  2. Moderate Similarity (25% - 40%): The manuscript will be returned to the author for revision and paraphrasing. The author must resubmit the revised version within the specified timeframe.

  3. High Similarity (Above 40%): The manuscript will be rejected immediately without further review.

If plagiarism is proven after publication, Samalewa reserves the right to retract the article and issue a public statement regarding the retraction.
